Pompeii. Fountain on north-west side of Gladiators Barracks?

1824 drawing of fountain base with four lions heads.

According to Mazois this was placed in the camp of soldiers when he drew it.

It was a graceful composition, and had to belong to some private building.

It was removed in 1810.

According to Eschebach the remains of this fountain were removed in 1810 and have not been found again.
