I.2.22 Pompeii. March 2009. Entrance, looking north-west. According to Warscher, quoting Mau in Bull. Inst.
See Warscher T., 1935. Codex Topographicus Pompeianus: Regio I.2. Rome: DAIR.
(translation: I. 2.22 "The house that overlooked the vico di Tesmo to the east, doesn’t deserve a detailed description. I note only that in the first house towards the south, to the right of a narrow corridor, one found first a walled round basin (diam. 0,50 – 0,58), then another quadrangular (1,82 + 0,70), which touched against the first with its short side. Both were 0,82 deep, and joined towards the back by a hole; from the second the water drained off towards the south. At the bottom of the same corridor there was the kitchen, with stove on the right, between which and some basins, the wall was pierced by a small window. In a room of the same house we read the word “HAVE” written in white stones on the floor.”)
