According to Boyce, in the west wall of the peristyle was an arched niche. Its walls were adorned with painted flowers. On the wall on either side of it, was painted a Lar, 34cms high, holding rhyton and situla. Below it, there was a single serpent moving towards an altar. See Boyce G. K., 1937.
