According to Jashemski, “the peristyle
garden of this small house without an atrium (excavated 1872) was to the right
of the north end of the entrance passageway. The garden was enclosed on the
west, north, and on part of the south sides by a portico supported by columns
joined by a low wall”.

According to Boyce, in
the west wall of the peristyle was an arched niche.
Its walls were adorned
with painted flowers.
On the wall on either
side of it, was painted a Lar, 34cms high, holding rhyton and situla.
Below it, there was a
single serpent moving towards an altar.
