II.3.9 Pompeii. March
2009. Entrance.
Found on the east side
of the entrance doorway was a painting of a God, possibly Vulcanus or
Hephaistos, and a potter at his wheel.
Found on the wall on
the east side of the painting, still partially conserved was CIL IV 7573 (see
II.3.8).

According to Varone and Stefani, it read:

Della Corte also wrote that this graffito was written in red, to the right of II.3.7, and that there were two painting on the exterior wall. Apart from the one below, there was also another, badly mutilated, of Minerva and Mercury.](2%2003%2009_files/image002.jpg)

On the right of the
doorway would have been the painting seen below.
Underneath the
painting was the graffito CIL IV 7574, no longer visible.
