This is translated as “Menander, nice-mannered, costs two asses” [CIL IV 4024]

V.1.14 on left and V.1.16 on right.
This area was badly
hit by the bombing of the night of 16th September 1943.
The north-east part
was badly hit, destroying four rooms and a good part of the northern perimeter
wall.
Another bomb partly
destroyed the road near the entrance doorway.
