According to Boyce, in
a room preceding the kitchen, low down in the west wall was a lararium painting
done on a red background.
It showed Fortuna,
crowned and wearing a whitish tunic and mantle standing holding a cornucopia in
her left and rudder resting upon a globe in her right hand.
Below her coiled a
serpent, raising its head towards her.
In the background were
plants, above and at the sides were garlands.
Against the wall in
front of the painting stood a kind of table for the offerings.
