Pompeii. December 2005. Looking north from entrance vestibule across the atrium.
VI.13.6
Pompeii. September 2004. Looking north across atrium, from entrance.
According to Garcia y Garcia, in 1943 a bomb destroyed the
rear entrance at VI.13.9.
The three nearby rooms on the south-east side of the
peristyle were destroyed as well as a good part of the east wall.
The plaster on the west wall of the atrium also suffered
damage.
The east wall of the tablinum was totally raised to the
ground, as well as the rooms to the east of this.
The major part of the damage will never be restored.
The house appears today very ruined and abandoned.
