2005. Looking west across garden area.
According to Boyce, in
the west wall of the garden was a smaller arched niche, which may also have been
a lararium.
He also mentioned the
shallow rectangular niche in the east wall of the atrium, see VII.15.12.

VII.15.11 Pompeii. September
2005. Garden area.
Looking south towards
south-east corner with remains of bench or raised planting bed.
According to
Jashemski, the small garden which was excavated in 1872-3 was at the rear of the
house.
It had a roofed
passageway on the north and west side.
A low wall separated
the garden from the passageway.
There was a bench (or
raised planting bed?) along the east and south walls.
