IX.1.15 Pompeii. Thermopolium/Caupona of Primus.

Linked to IX.1.16.  Excavated 1853 and 1857.  (Strada Stabiana 88)

 

IX.1.15 Pompeii. May 2005. Entrance on Via Stabiana. Looking east.
According to Della Corte, this was a large caupona of the usual form with rear and upstairs room.  He thought it would have been in the possession of a Primus, according to the recommendations written on the left of entrance IX.1.15.
