IX.5.18 Pompeii. March 2009. Room a, entrance doorway with east wall of fauces. According to Cooley, found beside the doorway was the graffito CIL IV 5112. She translates it as – Learn: while I am alive, you, hateful death, are coming. See Cooley, A. and M.G.L., 2004. Pompeii : A Sourcebook. London : Routledge. (p.78) According to Epigraphik-Datenbank Clauss/Slaby (See www.manfredclauss.de), it read as – Discite dum vivo mors inimica venis [CIL IV 5112]
