On the west side of the entrance doorway, many graffiti were found.

Amongst them CIL IV 7928 was found, in the area of the corner of the insula, behind the scaffolding.

None of the graffiti are now conserved.

According to Epigraphik-Datenbank Clauss/Slaby (See www.manfredclauss.de), CIL IV 7928 read as –

Cn(aeum)  Helvium  Sabin(um)

aed(ilem)  v(irum)  p(robum)  vicini  rog(ant)      [CIL IV 7928]

 

According to Cooley, graffiti recorded as being on the front of the House of C. Julius Polybius translates as –

“His neighbours ask for Cn. Helvius Sabinus, an honest man, as aedile”.   [CIL IV 7928]

Graffito on the east side of entrance doorway, CIL IV 7944 and CIL IV 7950.

According to Varone and Stefani, found on the east side of the doorway were CIL IV 7942, 7944, 7945 and 7946.

Further to the east of CIL IV 7944, was CIL IV 7950, which is now unreadable.

Only part of CIL IV 7944 and CIL IV 7950 remains visible, see above photo.
