IX.5.14 Pompeii. May 2005. Looking south-west across portico of two-sided peristyle. According to Jashemski, the portico of the garden was entered directly from the atrium. There was no tablinum. The portico was supported by four white stuccoed columns on the east, and on the south by six somewhat lower columns. The two rooms on the east, described by Eschebach as exedra or triclinia, had a good view of the garden. See Jashemski, W. F., 1993. The Gardens of Pompeii, Volume II: Appendices. New York: Caratzas. IX.5.14 Pompeii. May 2005. Looking south-west across portico of two-sided peristyle.

According to Jashemski, the portico of the garden was entered directly from the atrium. There was no tablinum.

The portico was supported by four white stuccoed columns on the east, and on the south by six somewhat lower columns.

The two rooms on the east, described by Eschebach as exedra or triclinia, had a good view of the garden.

According to Eschebach, this is a second exedra or triclinium on east side of peristyle.

This has a doorway in its south wall, leading to a third exedra or triclinium on east side.

According to Boyce, on the south wall of this kitchen, was a fragmentary lararium painting. Boyce said that Mau thought this kitchen was reserved for the use of the members of the household.
